Dinsmore & Shohl Mourns the Loss of Harris Weston

It is with great sadness that the law firm of Dinsmore & Shohl LLP reports the passing of Harris Kempner Weston. Harris was diagnosed with cancer in 2008 and lost his battle with the disease on Sunday, June 28th.

Harris joined the Firm in 1948 after serving as a lieutenant in the Army Air Forces in England during World War II. Following the war, he graduated from Harvard Law School where he served as an editor of the Law Review. After graduation, Harris served as a law clerk to Justice Harold H. Burton of the United States Supreme Court.

"Those who knew Harris were inevitably struck by his quick and inquisitive mind and his often unique perspective on matters," said George Vincent, Managing Partner of Dinsmore & Shohl.

Harris was extremely active in the Cincinnati community, where he gave generously of his time, talent and treasure. On June 4th of this year, Harris was honored by BRIDGES for a Just Community for his six decades of service to the organization. In his honor, BRIDGES announced that they have established the “Harris K. Weston Youth Fund." In addition, Harris and his wife were honored by the Cincinnati Arts Association with "The Alice F. and Harris K. Weston Art Gallery," for their work with the organization.

Harris received multiple awards throughout his career for his service to the community and his profession, including those from the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, the University of Cincinnati, the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, the Architectural Foundation of Cincinnati and the Contemporary Arts Center.

Harris will be greatly missed by all who knew and worked with him.
