Former Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Chiquita Joins Dinsmore & Shohl

Robert W. Olson, former Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Chiquita Brands International, Inc., has joined the law firm of Dinsmore & Shohl LLP. He will practice in the Corporate Department, working from the firm's Cincinnati office.

From 1995 until his retirement, in 2006, Olson was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Chiquita Brands International, Inc., with responsibility for all global legal matters. From 1987 to 1995, he was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of The Penn Central Corporation. Olson had joined Penn Central in 1979 and was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel from 1981 to 1987. He was an associate in the New York City law firm of Cravath, Swaine and Moore from 1970 to 1979, and worked for two years in its Paris office.

Olson graduated cum laude with honors in history from Williams College and received a J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School, where he was on the managing board of the Virginia Law Review. Olson is a trustee and past chairman of the board of the Cincinnati Museum Center and a trustee of the Cincinnati Opera Association. He is a past president of the Cincinnati Historical Society.
