Stephen Schweller Receives Professional Insurance Designation from the American Institute for CPCU

Stephen Schweller, a partner at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP's Cincinnati office, has been awarded the professional insurance designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®) by the American Institute for CPCU. This announcement was made by Peter L. Miller, CPCU, President and Chief Executive Officer. The American Institute for CPCU is an independent, nonprofit educational organization that confers the CPCU designation on persons who complete eight rigorous courses and national examinations and meet its ethics and experience requirements. All CPCUs are required to maintain and to improve their professional knowledge, skills, and competence through their commitment to the American Institute's Code of Professional Ethics.

Schweller is a member of the firm's Litigation Department and for the last 23 years has focused his practice on insurance-related issues and disputes, representing insurance carriers, agents, and third-party administrators in matters around the country. Additionally, he has worked on statutory liquidations of insurance companies and provides "preventive lawyering" in the form of coverage opinions and other pre-litigation advice. His practice also extends to non-insurance commercial litigation and general business disputes. He graduated with honors from Denison University and received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University School of Law.
