Susan C. Sears is a Partner in Dinsmore & Shohl's Labor & Employment Department. She has counseled employers on various aspects of labor & employment law issues, and has defended employers in state and federal court litigation, as well as the administrative level, for the past 18 years. She has a regional employment defense law practice which includes providing employment advice and/or defending employers in 15 states. Susan's practice involves legal issues in connection with alleged claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, or violations of the ADA, ADEA, Title VII, FMLA, wage/hour laws, in addition to alleged breaches of employment contracts or non-competition agreements. She also assists employers with day-to-day employment decisions, investigations, and other human resources matters.

Susan regularly conducts in-house supervisor and employee training sessions on all of the above topics, as well as participates as a regular presenter teaching employment law seminars for the Kentucky Bar Association, numerous professional trade organizations, and as a guest lecturer of the University of Kentucky's College of Law. Since 1998, Susan has served as an administrative Hearing Officer for the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government Human Rights Commission. She has been recognized as a Kentucky Super Lawyer in the Labor & Employment area in 2007 and 2008.
